LightSpring Home Care

24 Hour Care & Live-In Care

We can ensure that high-needs clients are not left alone.

We make  every effort to help our clients remain in their homes for as long as possible. This includes our ability to offer around-the-clock 24-hour care with a rotating team of qualified CNAs and/or Certified Home Health Aides. Where possible, a live-in aide may reside with the client and provide long-shift care (16 hours) on a daily basis.

When receiving care only during the day isn’t enough for your beloved family member, and the thought of relocating them to an assisted living facility or senior group home might not align with their wishes or your preferences, LightSpring Home Care is here to help. Our live-in care and 24-hour care services allow your loved one to receive the support they need while remaining in the comfort of their own home. Our live-in home care services are available for residents in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the following areas:

  • Philadelphia, PA
  • Cheltenham, PA
  • Abington, PA
  • Jenkintown, PA
  • And Beyond!

Live-In Care

For a live-in shift, the caregiver is allowed an 8-hour sleeping break. They must be provided with a sleeping bed/space as well as bathing and personal care facilities. Live-in care is billed at a flat rate per day.

24-Hour Care

With 24-hour care, two to four caregivers are booked daily and work agreed shifts of typically 8 to 12 hours. There is no sleeping break given to a caregiver during the shifts. 24-hour care is billed at an hourly rate.

What Does a Live-In Caregiver Do?

Our live-in care and 24-hour care services involve providing your loved one with around-the-clock assistance with daily living  activities. The specific tasks your carer will provide will depend on the requirements of your aging loved one. However, common tasks our highly trained and experienced live-in caregivers can complete include:

  • Medication reminders
  • Light housekeeping
  • Assistance with getting dressed
  • Preparing meals
  • Assistance with bathing and grooming
  • Toilet and incontinence care
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Mobility support
  • Help with errands and shopping
  • Providing companionship
  • Assistance with dressing

Benefits of Live-In Care

Opting for live-in home care has numerous benefits that can make a substantial difference in your loved one’s quality of life:

  • Personalized Care: Our live-in caregivers focus solely on your loved one’s needs, offering individualized attention and tailored assistance.
  • Comfort of Home: Aging in the familiarity of one’s own home promotes emotional well-being and maintains a sense of independence.
  • Cost-Effective Alternative: Compared to the expenses associated with assisted living facilities, live-in care is a more affordable option that doesn’t compromise on quality care.
  • Companionship: Our caregivers provide companionship, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation that can be common among seniors.
  • Safety and Security: Having a caregiver available 24/7 ensures your loved one’s physical safety and security are never compromised.
  • Continuity of Care: Consistent care from the same caregiver fosters a strong bond, making it easier for your loved one to build trust and establish routines.
  • Assistance With Daily Tasks: From meal preparation to medication management, our caregivers are trained to assist with a wide range of activities of daily living.

Is Live-In or 24-Hour Care Right for Your Family Member?

Live-in home care services offer a comprehensive solution for families seeking to provide dedicated support to their aging loved ones. This level of care, delivered by professional caregivers, is especially beneficial for individuals with limited mobility and unique health needs, such as those recovering from a stroke or living with dementia. If you’re considering the option of overnight care, our care coordinators can help you determine if this service is an ideal fit for your family. We have found that the people who benefit most from the support of a live-in care agency often include:

Those Who Need Support Throughout the Day and Night

For individuals with limited mobility or chronic health conditions, round-the-clock assistance becomes a necessity. Aging loved ones who require personal care assistance, medication reminders, and companionship benefit from the continuity of care that a live-in caregiver can offer. Families seeking peace of mind find comfort in knowing their family member is supported, even during the nighttime hours.

Couples Who Want to Stay Together

Elderly couples share a unique bond, and staying together is often a top priority. Live-in homecare services  ensure that partners can remain in their own home, receiving the care they need while cherishing their shared space and memories. This arrangement maintains their emotional well-being and independence.

Those Being Discharged From the Hospital

Individuals transitioning from hospital care to their homes may require extra support during recovery. A professional caregiver can provide essential assistance to post-surgery clients or those managing health conditions, helping them regain their strength and confidence.

Those Requiring Specialty Care

Seniors with specific medical needs, such as dementia, diabetes, COPD, or other specialized conditions, deserve tailored care. Our qualified CNAs and Certified Home Health Aides can provide the expertise and attention required to ensure your loved one’s comfort and safety.

Provide Your Loved One With the Personal Care They Deserve

Our live-in care and 24-hour care services reflect our commitment to ensuring your loved one’s well-being while preserving their dignity and independence.
